The above photo is the old Lord Nelson Hotel (a 1960's Hotel) after its conversion to a Holiday Inn Express. This building saw a total demolition of the interior with new walls plumbing and electrical retrofit of existing services, new fire sprinkler system to bring it up to code. A new exterior face lift was done at the same time. This required us to be very Innovative as the owner didn’t engage an Architect for design drawings.
The renovation of a Best Western Hotel where we turned an outdoor pool into an enclosed pool and spa. The change was dramatic we added a patio café to the breakfast room opening the whole area up. This required modifying the existing fire sprinklers ad fire ratings.
3. Major renovation to a Sheraton Hotel, adding thirty rooms, new washrooms, banquet rooms, basement extension under the existing building for storage. There were new commercial stalls created, a new administration area and completely new entry for tour bus business. The hotel was fully operational during the renovation.
Renovations of two older churches, the first added 100% to the square footage expanding three sides of the building and creating a large gathering area, new administration offices and adding new youth rooms and fireside room. The second church added a two story addition complete with basement (12,000 sf) and an elevator, here too we created new administration offices, childcare classrooms, a new fireside meeting room and a dramatic exterior face lift..
5. We have built two purpose built Daycares for one client, one building at 12,000 sf and the second at 8,500 sf. These buildings were specifically designed as Daycares, with before and after school capability.
Here we have included two commercial retail and office buildings. Melrose Drugs in Airdrie purchased an old liquor store from the Province and to that we added a basement and two story addition. We renovated the liquour store portion for Child and Family Services (10,000 sf) and added a two story addition for the drug store with a basement (15,000sf). The second building is a typical two story with elevator, retail space on the ground floor and office on the second floor for a total of 12,000 sf.
Here we have a Harvey’s / Swiss Chalet restaurant which incorporated many different materials, the style was mimic an industrial shop.

This method of construction affords the flexibility of starting components of a building before all plans are completely finished. It also allows for ordering equipment prior to tendering, speeding up procurement of major equipment such as roof top units. This all helps to advance the schedule.
